Folk art house
The locally made embroideries, the lace-like riselin, as well as egg-, furniture- and wall-painting are all world-famous.
Uniquely this is the only region in our country where women painted the walls of rooms and the porches of houses.
The motifs to be embroidered or painted were all sketched out without using stencils and they worthily became famous. Several sketcher women gained reputation all over the world, such as Ilus Király, Julis Pirisi, Pöre Peák, Mári Balaton. We also try to present the heritage from these masters of folk art to our visitors.
